Dear Parents & Caregivers
Tēnā koutou te hunga pānui o tō tātou hāpori. Ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa
It’s been a big week in the office with reports being e mailed out. It’s very efficient but ironically more time consuming. Sonya has done an amazing job of coordinating the delivery of these. We used the email address we had on file. If you haven’t received one or there is someone else connected to your child who should receive a copy, please contact the office.
Hard copies have been printed off also and are available from the office if you prefer.
Parent interviews are Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th June and appointment times are available in the www.school.interviews.co.nz app. The code is abpcm. Interviews have reverted to the more traditional approach as this was the feedback we have received over the last two years. Children are welcome to attend but are not required if you so wish.
We are also offering interviews via Zoom if this makes it easier to manage for you. Please book an interview time slot as normal and then e mail your child’s teacher. They will send you a link for the interview time.
With Covid still circulation and a range of quite nasty flu type virus’s circulating, schools closing for days and/or reverting to home-based learning, the issue of mask wearing in schools has been very prominent in the media this week. The Board have received a parent request to consider the schools position on this and are currently in the process of considering their options. More information from the Board will be coming out over the next two weeks.
Board elections are coming up in September and we will have three vacancies to fill. If you are considering being part of the governance structure of the school, please contact any Board member: Anna Madarasz-Smith, Nichola Nicholson, Katie Rongonui, Simon Walker, Sam Talbot or myself and we can give you more information on how the Board process and governance works. You are most welcome to attend a Board meeting and see the process. The next Board meeting is on June 27th at 5.45 pm.
It was nice to see the Hawks here this week interacting with the children. Thanks Louise and Basketball Hawkes Bay for organising this.
Look out on your child’s Seesaw posts for an invite to our Matariki night session next Wednesday – running from 5.30 to 6.30. The children are very excited about being able to come back to school at night.
Have a great weekend.
